Mountain Bike Legend to Crank The Shield
(December 13th, 2011) – SCOTT/3 Rox Racing has added legendary Canadian mountain bike racer Geoff Kabush to their roster in 2012. Kabush is a 2-time Canadian Olympian, multiple World Cup podium star and the winner of the 2009 Bromont World Cup. His addition to the roster will propel SCOTT’s mountain bike program in North America.
Crank The Shield is a legendary mountain bike stage race in its’ own right, beginning in 2008 and taking a hiatus in 2011. “I spoke with Kyle Douglas of SCOTT/3 Rox Racing the other day and he is overjoyed to add Kabush to the team,” says Adam Ruppel of Chico Racing, “Having Geoff and Derek Zandstra on the Crank roster is certainly going to be great for the Eastern Canadian mountain bike scene. We are thrilled to have them participate a month after the 2012 Olympic Games and give many Ontario riders the opportunity to ride and hang out with some of the world’s best riders.”
Crank The Shield presented by Kijiji.ca is a two and three day mountain bike stage race taking place in the Haliburton Highlands. Participants ride 75 – 90 km off-road per day all while enjoying the 4 star food and amazing accommodations. Crank is already 40% full of its’ 350 participant maximum!

"Everything was absolutely perfect and spot on from the rider's perspective! From the bags and drop bags to the cabins, food, course markings, volunteers, course, etc - well it was one of the best ever."Laurie Woodbury - Participant
"Thanks for a great experience. All the effort you all put in showed in the fact that everything ran so smooth. The bar has been set pretty high for other Mtb Stage Races. I am sure as word gets out there will be line ups to sign on for next year."Jim Brogden - Participant
