Crank The Shield 2012 was a huge success and we have YOU to thank for it! Miss the final edition of Crank The Shield? This video by Ryan Smith will let you in on all the fun you missed....
We've received a lot of requests for course maps and elevation profiles for each stage of Crank The Shield 2012. However, due to a heavy reliance on private lands and our desire to make Crank a true adventure, we've decided not to post course maps until last minute before the event.
However, course designer Sean Ruppel has decided to share the trails in Haliburton Forest that will be featured in CTS 2012. This trail network is accesible to the riding public for a very reasonable fee. Additionally, Sir Sam's Ski and Bike is also open for riders to preview even more of the awesome trails featued in CTS 2012. Check out the Haliburton Forest trails on Sean's map below and head to www.sirsams.com.
We've once again partnered with the Trek Bicycle Store to offer you the "Life of a Rock Star" . 100 lucky guys and gals have the opportunity to let Trek's master mechanics wash and tune their bikes after Stage 1 and 2. Let the people at Trek worry about cleaning and tuning your steed while you focus on recovering and relaxing! To sign up, right click on the attached form and save it to your computer, print the form and fill out your information, and finally fax it to (416) 481-7090. Act fast, as 2010 saw these 100 spots fill up quickly! Click here for the .pdf file.
June 26, 2012 - Crank The Shield is over 55% sold at this point, and we are seeing a spike in interest recently. Pricing is about to go up, so if you are set to register save $50 and register today. "Everything was absolutely perfect and spot on from the rider's perspective! From the bags and drop bags to the cabins, food, course markings, volunteers, course, etc - well it was one of the best ever."Laurie Woodbury - Participant
