3-DAY MOUNTAIN BIKE STAGE RACE, September 14-16, 2012

Stage 2: September 15th, 2012

(Stage 1 for 2-day participants)

Approx. 85 km Course

Camp White Pine- Camp White Pine (Loop)

The longest ride of the race starts with a hearty breakfast from 7:15 am to 9:15 am. Riders will start from Camp White Pine, and make their way to downtown Haliburton, and loop back to Camp White Pine, traversing a large area of Haliburton County.

Stage 2 will start at 10:30 am, with trails of Haliburton hosting the day’s first sections of awesome singletrack. Riders will then make their way through the heart of Haliburton where an amazing look-out climb awaits. Following this spectacular climb and panoramic vista/feed zone the course heads south to Camp Wanakita, where more singletrack and wilderness riding awaits. After some beautiful cottage backroads riders will then eventually make their way back north through more beautiful off-road back country sections. Riders then enter the west end of Camp White Pine, which will feature a short but fun flowy singletrack to the finish!

Dinner will be served at Camp White Pine at 6:30 pm. Riders will take their bikes with them to the cabin overnight, unless they use the awesome service provided by the Trek Bicycle Store. After dinner riders can enjoy the beautiful camp setting or stay put in the mess hall for the awards ceremony and a preview of the final stage!

2-day participants should park at Haliburton Forest, and take the shuttle to Camp White Pine (25 km drive).
