The last day of the event promises to be a memorable one, with riders waking up to a great breakfast at 6:45 am. The ride begins with a "neutral" ride of 10 km. Riders will hit the official, timed start no later than 9:30 am at Sir Sam's Ski Resort. After a quick staging of riders, you’ll be off for the last 55 or 35 km leg of your journey, depending on your course. This will start no later than 9:45 am, and the fastest riders are expected to finish the tough final day by 12:15 pm. Fabulous mountain biking bliss awaits riders for Stage #3, with awesome singletrack, lung-busting climbs and panoramic scenery. The finish will be in the main area of Haliburton Forest where riders will be treated to a wonderful bbq as participants cheer on fellow riders and cap off the experience with an awards ceremony. Riders can then hop in their cars and make the journey home completing one of North America's great mountain bike events and rides!

"Thanks for a great experience. All the effort you all put in showed in the fact that everything ran so smooth. The bar has been set pretty high for other Mtb Stage Races. I am sure as word gets out there will be line ups to sign on for next year."
Jim Brogden - 2009 Participant

"Everything was absolutely perfect and spot on from the rider's perspective! From the bags and drop bags to the cabins, food, course markings, volunteers, course, etc - well it was one of the best ever."
Laurie Woodbury - 2009 Participant -
New - Crank The Shield offers a short course option with distances ranging between 50 to 60 km per day. It is still a tough ride but puts Crank within range for the average rider.

“Congratulations to the whole CTS team, as I rank this race (for course, accommodation, food,

volunteers, etc.) as tops on my list of completed races. The course was out of this world, including CTS trail, which I think is the best new single track I’ve ever ridden.”
